2023/11/07
Programme Overview

The Surgery-in-General (SIG) Residency Programme at JurongHealth Campus provides our SIG residents with a seamless general surgery track before they proceed to a four-year period of specialty training in their respective chosen specialties.

The SIG Programme Director works closely with the SIG Residency Advisory Committee and the various Surgical Specialty Programme Directors to plan training rotations according to our SIG residents' individual needs.

SIG residents are selected for the specialist surgical fields of:

  1. Urology
  2. Neurosurgery
  3. Plastic Surgery
  4. Hand Surgery
  5. Cardiothoracic Surgery

Our Department of General Surgery's expertise includes colorectal, endocrine, upper aastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and vascular specialties. SIG residents rotated to JurongHealth Campus are given ample opportunities to hone their basic surgical skills. They are also trained in the essential principles of good surgical practices with the aid of a robust structured conference curriculum.
