NTFGH's Orthopaedic Surgery works in partnership with the National University Health System for the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Training Programme. Both junior and senior residents are rotated to NTFGH for general orthopaedic/trauma, shoulder and elbow, and foot and ankle surgery attachments.
During their attachment to NTFGH, residents are involved in clinical work such as ward rounds, outpatient clinics and operating lists, with opportunities to contribute to our multi-disciplinary approach to patient care, for example, in the multi-disciplinary diabetic foot team. They are also active in our educational and research activities.
There is a strong ethos and commitment to both basic science and clinical teaching at NTFGH. Residents have ample time for consultant-lead clinical and surgical training. They may give scientific talks, case presentations and journal club presentations and receive feedback on their performance. There is also opportunity for residents to get involved in clinical research projects during their postings.
