Geriatric Medicine

NTFGH is the partner site for the NUHS Geriatric Medicine Senior Residency Programme. The Geriatric service at NTFGH caters to all levels of learners caring for the elderly, whether they are medical students, residents or senior residents.

With a complete suite of inpatient and outpatient services as well as community integration via regular consultations to two nursing homes in the vicinity, trainees are offered the opportunity to experience the comprehensive integration across all levels of care. They are treated as part of our multi-disciplinary teams and will learn the principles of comprehensive geriatric assessments and intricacies of formulating individualised care plans - the cornerstone of geriatric management.

A versatile consultant requires multi-faceted competencies and practical experience which our trainees will acquire progressively. We aim to equip our trainees with the skill sets to lead a team, supervise junior team mates and identify systemic challenges in care transition.
