Made up of over 380,000 mosaic tiles, "Colours of Love" is a 35m long centrepiece at the JurongHealth Campus Community Wellness Park, created by Singaporean mosaic artist, Nanette Zehnder and more than 800 participants from schools, Senior Activity Centres, patients and JurongHealth Campus staff. Transforming the bare wall of the Energy Centre into a spectacular piece of art, this visually stunning wall represents the community's collaborative spirit, beautifully captured through a myriad of colorful tiles, mirrors, ceramic and glass pieces.
The design captures our role as a regional healthcare system, anchored by Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Community Hospital, set in a lush landscape, among our community of patients, families, staff and residents in the west, represented by the individual heart-shaped mosaics.
Guided by the mosaic artists, participants from 8 to 80 years old used different techniques to create more than 800 unique mosaic hearts - each is an emblem of their love and efforts towards the creation of the mosaic art wall. The project allowed the participants to express their creativity and bring the communities closer as they co-create a welcoming and colourful space together.
The completed work of art exudes vitality and vibrancy, with an array of imageries showing the richness and love for life, celebrating the beautiful and colourful community collaboration in this shared space within the hospital ground, to inspire and delight.
