Adj Asst Prof Loke Wei Tim graduated from the University of Sydney, Australia. He continued his training in urology in New South Wales, culminating in a fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Prior to his practice in Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, he worked at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and National University Hospital.
Dr Loke was awarded a Ministry of Health fellowship to the Imperial College NHS Trust in London, where he sub-specialised in advanced laparoscopy and cancer diagnostics. He established a pure laparoscopic radical prostatectomy programme in NTFGH. His specialty interest is in urologic cancers, including prostate, bladder and kidney/ureter cancers. His technical expertise is in advanced laparoscopy (minimally-invasive surgery), and endourology for stones and cancers.
Beyond Urology, Dr Loke has interests in evidence-based practice and education. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor with Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and is on the committee for examining urology residents. He also holds degrees in epidemiology, physics and philosophy.
