Biosketch

Adj Asst Prof Heng Chin Tiong is the Head of the Division of Urology at JurongHealth Campus. He practises as a Senior Consultant in Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and a member of the Chapter of Urologists, College of Surgeons, Singapore. His training included a year of fellowship with the Department of Urology in Westmead Hospital, Australia.

Adj Asst Prof Heng’s expertise is in urinary stone surgery (including ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephrolithotripsy), extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL), as well as laparoscopic urologic surgery (including laparoscopic nephrectomy and pyeloplasty. He has performed on-site training for ESWL in many centres regionally, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan and China.

Committed to medical education, Adj Asst Prof Heng oversaw the Year 3 Medical Undergraduate Programme for Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University Singapore from 2010 to 2012. He is currently a member of the Residency Advisory Committee for Urology, as well as the programme director for the Diploma in Urology run by the Chapter of Urologists, College of Surgeons, Singapore.
