Adj Asst Prof Vigneswaran Nallathamby graduated in 2005 from the Penang Medical College and Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He was trained in General Surgery and specialised in Plastic Surgery in several restructured hospitals in Singapore, including the National University Hospital and Singapore General Hospital. He completed his Plastic Surgery training with a Gold Medal Award at the final examinations. He furthered his training with fellowships in the head and neck reconstructive surgery in Universitätsklinik für MKG-Chirurgie, an den Kliniken Essen-Mitte in Essen, Germany and in reconstructive microsurgery in the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona, Spain while being awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Fellowship Program Award.
He is well-published in the field in both local and international journals. He continues to perform research and has been awarded a grant.
Adj Asst Prof Vignes enjoys teaching and is a core faculty of the Integrated National Plastic Surgery Residency Program as well as a Clinical Lecturer for the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He continues to organise cadaveric dissection courses for the residents and has been invited to speak to the faculty at local conferences.

Adj Asst Prof Vignes joined JurongHealth Campus in 2011 and has been instrumental to the establishment and expansion of the Division of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery in the hospital. His key areas of interest include reconstructive microsurgery for breast, lower limb, trunk and head and neck reconstruction, skin cancers, lymphedema, craniofacial trauma and aesthetic surgery and laser treatment.
